Cheryl Burns, Nationally Certified Massage and Bodywork Therapist, NCMBT

Cheryl Burns, Certified Massage Therapist at the Boulder Mandala Integrative Medicine Clinic

Through bodywork, Cheryl creates a nurturing space in which you can discover your own innate healing capacities—your personal moving stillness. Intuitively applying techniques, she integrates styles from Swedish massage, neuromuscular and deep tissue, Reiki, reflexology, and Thai massage. She also loves offering full (typically 2 hours) Thai sessions, which are fully clothed on a mat on the floor: this work involves opening the flows of energy through compression, acupressure, and stretching. In addition, she happily works with moms throughout pregnancy and after birth with prenatal and postnatal massage, supporting the many the transformations of their bodies. Meeting you with an empathetic, open heart, Cheryl improvises with modalities and invites you to connect with and listen to your own body in order to discover your own dance of healing integration.

Merging her years of practicing dance, bodywork, and meditation, Cheryl is currently focusing her passions for healing the body-mind-spirit in her graduate studies in somatic psychology at Naropa University where she is training in Dance/Movement Therapy and Body Psychotherapy. You can also find her on the stage—wooden ones as well as wooded ones—dancing butoh, or outside running with her dog, Waller. She looks forward to meeting you, facilitating the discovery of what your body needs, and supporting you in opening your body and your potential for moving more freely in the world.
